About Kim Maxwell

Kimberly Maxwell, a fourth generation in Walton County, knows the community and its wonderful lifestyle firsthand. Although she was born in NYC, moved to NC in her high school and college years, her mother and father brought the family to South Walton every year since the early sixties so that they could visit grandparents and other relatives in DeFuniak Springs and hold beach reunions in Grayton and Seagrove. After life guarding at Sandestin every summer through college, Kimberly moved full-time after college to take on her first career job as the South Walton reporter for the Destin Log. Working long hours as a beat reporter to the area, Kimberly joined the DeFuniak Springs Herald as the Editor of the Beach Breeze. The culmination of living and learning about Walton County made her feel that South Walton was the best place to live, love and play with its sense of community! Being found as a writer for the newspaper by a renowned editor of PC Magazine in the early 90's she continued her education with a Master’s of Science in Technology to further her knowledge of the computer industry and take hold of the journalistic requirements it takes to write for high tech publications and books. After over 8 books and hundreds of published articles in over 15 trade publications, Kimberly formed NetPR in 1996 to help start-up and fortune 500 marketing teams leverage their presence with the press. Today, turning the corner to real estate made sense for Kimberly as she has been involved through the years in the development process for her own Planned Unit Development, resale of fixer uppers, and land sales. She also holds a license in Life insurance and annuities. Kimberly is happy to help find the best property to fit your expectations and requirements with all the fun stories that go along with Walton County!
